How Auctions Work
When you place your bid prior to the sale, your highest bid will never be used unless other bidders drive the sale price to that level. Your bid will be reduced to one raise over the second highest bid received.
For example, if you bid $1000 on a lot, and the second highest mail bid received is $700, your bid on the auction floor will begin at $725. If there is floor competition, we will continue to bid on your behalf up to your top bid of $1000. If there is no floor competition, you purchase the lot for $725.
If you have further questions don't hesitate to contact Spink Shreves at 972.788.2100 or 1-800-556-7826 and we will be glad to help guide you through the process.
